Shield your
Solana ZEC.
Generating your wallet…
FAQ
How does this work?+
Enter how much ZEC on Solana to move and a shielded Zcash address. We route the request through NEAR Protocol, which provides a quote and a one-time deposit address on Solana.
You send your ZEC there in a single Phantom transaction. NEAR Protocol then delivers native ZEC to your shielded address. This page tracks the transfer until it lands.
What info do you store?+
Nothing. There are no accounts and no database. Your amount, Zcash address and Solana address are routed to NEAR to get a quote and are never logged or saved.
To prevent abuse, our server keeps your IP address in memory for about a minute for rate limiting. Our host keeps standard request logs, which include the one-time deposit address this page uses to check status.
When you connect a wallet, its address is sent to our Solana data provider to show your balance.
NEAR Protocol receives your addresses because it needs them to route the swap, and it screens transfers for compliance.
Why do you only support shielded addresses?+
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to gain the privacy benefits of Zcash and that comes through shielded addresses. What you do with your money next is up to you!
I don't have a Zcash wallet. What do I do?+
Tap “Generate private address”. Your browser creates a new wallet: a 24-word recovery phrase and its shielded address. We never see or store the phrase, so write it down on paper. If you lose it, the ZEC is gone.
To see or spend your ZEC, restore the phrase in an Ironwood-ready wallet from ZecHub's wallet directory.
What does it cost?+
The quote shows your total cost in ZEC under “Fees & spread” before you send. It includes the Zcash network fee for delivering to your address, NEAR Intents' fee and any Sparkz fee. On the Solana side you pay a small network fee in SOL. The first deposit to a new deposit address can also cost about 0.002 SOL to open its token account.
How long does it take?+
Usually a few minutes after your Solana transaction confirms. The quote shows an estimate. Occasionally NEAR Intents holds a transfer longer for compliance review.
What if something goes wrong?+
If the swap can't complete before the quote's deadline, or your deposit doesn't match the quote, the ZEC is refunded to your Solana wallet, minus a tiny refund fee. This page shows the status as it happens.
Is there a minimum amount?+
Yes. The bridge sets a small minimum (recently about 0.0013 ZEC), and the page tells you if you enter less.
Can I send my $ZEC back to Solana?+
Currently you need to use a Zcash supported wallet (a list can be found here). However we will be adding support for this shortly...
